Either I'm very tired or Sara seems very happy. (Considering I used the same word twice in one sentence, I'll go with either tired or both.)

Anyway, I'm Kelly, and I take a twisted pleasure in pointing out spelling and grammar errors in MSTs--as in, when the person doing the MST makes such errors. I do enjoy MSTing M*A*S*H fics as well, and there are a few I'm planning on doing. On badfic_quotes, I've treated bad Law & Order, House, and CSI fics to the same thing. I also leave some not-so-kind reviews on bad fic I find on LJ. (If I did that on ff.n, my head would explode.)

My opinion, as a beta-reader (and I'm far kinder when I beta than when I MST), is that bad writers should at least use a spell-check program, many of which have grammar checking abilities. Ideally, the writer should use a beta, as well. There's no reason for fic to be so very bad, and mocking it is one of the only things I can do about it (besides leave scathing reviews, that is).

I used to beta-read, too, a looong time ago. Actually, the writer I beta'd was a fairly decent one... a Wheel of Time slashfic writer, strangely enough. But then I found that it's so much more fun to offer non-constructive criticism in the form of hilarious mockery than to actually help people. :)
